In addition to/in lieu of "orientation", it might be helpful to have=20 a few demo systems set up with different interfaces, but running the=20 same basic software stack. Browser/Email/VLC. If we are offering bring=20 a device and we install Linux on it for you services. I am very wary about liability incurred with backing up data. =============================================================== From: Aaron welch Via chugalug ------------------------------------------------------ I/Peritix is happy to offer the demo flavor systems. I have enough laptops to make that easy. I will also be offering prebuilt systems for people to install on the cheap as part of the swap meet portion (hardware pimp has to be pimpin). I think we let the system owners do the linux installs themselves so volunteers never touch the system or assume liability. I have stacks of 2.5" HDDs that are older than some of my children I can donate to the cause, but SSDs are hard to part with for free at the current prices. I also feel like a donation with free data wipe would be a valid and helpful addition to this adventure. I can get R1 to pickup anything we cannot repurpose. I am also debating creating a group called the Chattanoooga Underground to help facilitate this and other activities to encourage positive engagement and interactions around the community.
