Chatt*Lab Makerspace and specifically "Moth" is planning on a Linux
Installfest / Upcycle event the afternoon of Saturday April 11 2026.
Room/space/time for an estimated 20 people to be upcycled with 5+
volunteers to help. More would be welcome.

Plans not burned into ROM yet.. will update Chugalug when plans are
finalized.

Goal is helping "normal" people continue to use older hardware.
Intro/begineer to Linux level.
Offering Linux Mint and Fedora on Ventoy USB boot/install drives for
begineers. There is also a few fancier options on the drives. Might even
include Bazzite?

2nd goal is to gauge interest, learn and get the word out for future
events possibly at the Library or other less intimidating venues with
better access.

No, we aren't going to be doing Linux from Scratch, or Gnu/Hurd....
etc..

=============================================================== From: "Greg Laudeman, Ed.D. Via chugalug" ------------------------------------------------------ Cool! I'd love to help but have a memorial for my mom that day. I'm planning a "Let's Learn Linux" study group for "normal" folks (including me) to learn the basics, including installing and rudimentary troubleshooting. I need to get plugged into Chatt*Lab. -- Greg Laudeman, Ed.D. *Executive Officer and Principal* Eduity, LLC www.eduity.net greg@eduity.net 706-271-5521

=============================================================== From: Stephen Kraus Via chugalug ------------------------------------------------------ I may be in Chattanooga as Bugapalooza will be that weekend as well!

=============================================================== From: Dave Brockman Via chugalug ------------------------------------------------------ That sounds fantastic. I have also been known to run a PXE server with a bunch of install images available. Unfortunately, I will be on the West Coast that day.
