stand typing for any length of time on the tictac keyboards. Not enough t=
ravel time on the keypress. I learned to type in the eighties and the key=

My son bought a Razer gaming keyboard. Then I tried typing on it. And
that's what I use now for my gaming PC. The work laptop inherited the prior
Logitech keyboard. Getting tempted to take the extra Logitech keyboard and
mouse to the office so I don't have to use the Bloomberg Starboard keyboard
(it has the built-in biometric scanning and BUnit charger, neither of which
I actually need anymore with the iPhone BUnit app).

A Canadian company called Matias makes their own reproduction ALPS
switches, same as Apple used for decades. (But new and not old and mushy.)
I use their split "Ergo Pro" and it's peerless. First board that made me
give up my 1992 IBM Model M.

Y'all crazy. I've got clackers. Even a nice modern one. I gave in to Lenovo
chiclets on laptops so bad I've bought external USB Lenovo keyboards, my
next will be Bluetooth as well. Not just for the "touch point" but once you
buy in and develop a feel for them, you can happily live/work on a laptop.
And then these work for other machines.

And I have nothing positive to say about the older HP Envy laptop I have.
What a terrible chicklet keyboard for an otherwise kick ass I7 laptop. It
was my penalty for buying online on spec.

After using the same keyboard for 30 years (almost literally, I think I'm
on my third, but the same model that whole time), I absolutely cannot type
well on anything else, including my 17" Lenovo P70 with the full size
keyboard.  Miss keys left and right.  Of course I never learned to touch
type, so that probably has a lot to do with it.

I bought my current keyboard nearly 12 years ago and use it exclusively
when I am not traveling.  It was a custom designed model from WASD
Keyboards using MX Blue switches.  https://www.wasdkeyboards.com/

They offer far more customization than when I ordered, and they build a
very fine quality keyboard.  I'd order another from them, but I just don't
need to because the first one hasn't stopped working yet. haha.

One of my coworkers has a two-part keyboard. Solid white, nothing printed
on the keytops. And noisier to type on than mine. She flies on it, but
cannot type on the standard issue keyboard.

I also have a Matias Tactile Pro. Bought it years ago and keep it handy 
for design projects when I need to easily find special characters 
because they're printed right on the keys!

So just a follow up.  I ended up building my own keyboard.  It the sofle 
keyboard https://josefadamcik.github.io/SofleKeyboard/build_guide.html. 
I used the ZMK firmware.  Supports usb or bluetooth with 5 different 
bluetooth profiles.  Uses gateron brown switches.  Below link is link to 
code for firmware and a picture of the keyboard.
