From: Dave Brockman ------------------------------------------------------ I installed one of these ~10 years ago to a CnC machine (Plasma torch=20 IIRC) because it only ran NT4.0. Some of you may have forgotten that=20 NT40 did not support USB natively, you had to add a 3rd party driver=20 stack to use USB. And generally, one 3rd party USB stack only supported=20 one vendor's devices, or even one single device. Multiple USB devices=20 from multiple vendors just wasn't a thing (at least not stable). The=20 software it ran also would not access SMB network shares, only local=20 devices, so the FDD interface USB was added so they could copy the CnC=20 files off the network to thumb drive, and then stick that in the FDD=20 interface on the CnC machine to load the instructions. -Dave On 5/21/2022 10:35 AM, Ed King wrote: > I've had one of those hooked up to my Amiga 1000 for several years.=C2=A0= =C2=A0I=20 > had to reflash the firmware to make it=C2=A0 Amiga compatible.=C2=A0 =C2= =A0 I put the=20 > disk images (Kickstart, workbench, games, etc) on the USB stick, from a= =20 > windows pc.=C2=A0 Insert USB into gotek, turn on the Amiga and select=20 > Kickstart image using the navigation buttons on the gotek.=C2=A0 When=20 > prompted for workbench, press nav=C2=A0 button to get to workbench imag= e, and=20 > voila, Amiga boots.=C2=A0 =C2=A0 Press nav button on gotek=C2=A0 to sel= ect a game=20 > image, and the disk icon appears on desktop.=C2=A0 =C2=A0Double click t= he disk=20 > icon and play the game >=20 > ...and I don't even like to play games, lol >=20 >=20 > On Saturday, May 21, 2022, Billy > wrote: >=20 >=20 > Gotek SFR1M44-U100 3.5 Inch 1.44MB USB SSD Floppy Drive Emulator > https://www =3D > .amazon.com/dp/B0762NCHC6/ >=20 > In don=3DE2=3D80=3D99t have a need, but wow - very cool.
