E.T. is alive! He sent me a message via LinkedIn.

This is partially just to trigger an email to the list to see if we get
past his mail filters this time.

=============================================================== From: "Mike (meuon) Harrison" ------------------------------------------------------ For work at ring-u.com we mostly use gmail, but we also have systems that need to send out emails as ring-u.com and process a lot of weird things via email (like faxes, voicemail transcription, etc..) that are bizarre hybrids of various email server configs and special processors. I chatted with an "email expert" a while back, the answer from them was "mailchimp all the things". My wife deals with Mailchimp for her stuff, not happening. I think what's mostly telling is that a lot of the current generation of "internet experts" don't actually know how things work. and inside how things work, much of it is duct tape, glue and lag bolts trying to make it pretty, when in reality it needs to "just work". Because base64encoding, the mime embedded base64encoded email, that contains an attachement that is also base64encoded that is all wrapped in some kind of UTF8 wrapper because they put an emoji in the subject line (which has it's own UTF8 wrapper) is a gloriously efficient way to communicate and email that essentially says "me too!" --Therapy rant over.
