Steve is a neighbor (side of Signal Mtn), a true gentleman and one of the
more interesting people I know. He is also old skool web savvy and looking for advice and
maybe some assistance cutting and pasting data as a learning experience.

I'd normally point someone to wix.com or weebly.com, maybe squarespace.com
but have about 30 minutes experience with each and my idea of "design" is
"minimal". One reason is that such things would allow multiple people to
edit the site.

My perspective of Wordpress is that it keeps Wordpress consultants
employed and is way way overcomplicated for his needs. Your experience and
opinion may be different.

If you have some advice, or would like to help: Reach out to him at Steve
Wixson or reply to the list.

? ??? Our http://rhythmbones.org website is 25 years old with a couple of
upgrades over the years, and it needs modernization as it
is not mobile friendly.? I take care of it now creating html pages using
an old template, and it is rich in content.? I started a new
design using Adobe Muse, but Adobe has drop that product (see
http://stevewixson.net/NewRBSWebsite/index.html and click Museum while
you are there).? I liked navigating with bones, but couldn't make them
work on small screens).

??? ??? I don't know today's web technology and there are a lot of
platforms out there like wordpress.? I want to buy an hour or so
of an expert consultant's time to jump start me.? Know anyone? Thanks,
Steve

=============================================================== From: "Mike (meuon) Harrison" ------------------------------------------------------ Lots of praise for WP: Anyone got a Wordpress contact that could give him some help? 1-3 hour kickstart session? (That ain't me... ;)

=============================================================== From: DaWorm ------------------------------------------------------ Off-topic Any idea why I see so much ASCII markup in list messages? Lots of equals signs followed by hex codes. I'm assuming this was for Unicode characters? This thread was almost unreadable for me. Gmail mobile client. =============================================================== From: Phil Sieg ------------------------------------------------------ So my 2 cents: WIX The reason for me is ease of use + tools. The design interface is reminiscent of other photoshopish interfaces, so = my learning curve was very, very short. I am able to update the site and = make fairly complex design changes rapidly. Also it is cheap. Also in the past 3 years it has never crashed or glitched. =============================================================== From: "Mike (meuon) Harrison" ------------------------------------------------------ I gotta do a better job of using the correct MIME types.. which will help.

=============================================================== From: David White ------------------------------------------------------ Mike, Even though I work full type for EPB, Develop CENTS is still kicking, and the majority of the sites we host and manage are WordPress. I have a lot of WordPress experience, and I have a great team (3-4 people) who also have great experience. My agreement with EPB is that I won't take on any *new web hosting* customers within the Chattanooga area. However, I can still do development. Also, if the customer is outside of EPB's footprint, I can host as well. Send them over! I'd love to talk to them. :) On Fri, Feb 21, 2020 at 3:25 PM Mike (meuon) Harrison wrote: -- David White
