moving partition with sfdisk

Does anyone have any idea how long it should take to move a ~600GB
partition with sfdisk?

echo '+100M,' | sfdisk --move-data /dev/sdc -N 1

Also, is there any way to check its progress?

The sfdisk solution seemed promising, since the syntax for exactly this scenario is given in the manpage. However, by checking the log file, I was able to determine that it only completed about 1% of the task in about 3 days, so it would apparently take the better part of a year to actually move a partition! Much easier at this point to simply wipe the partition and start over. Perhaps next time I want to move a partition I will try did instead...

=============================================================== From: Lynn Dixon ------------------------------------------------------ Are you using LVM by Chance? Moving a pv is pretty easy to do if you are. On Sun, Sep 1, 2019, 10:18 PM Robert Kelly wrote:
