High Power Raspberry Pi

anyone out there got a favorite high power Raspberry Pi variation? 
ie: Runs Raspbian or good variant, with GPIO.. 
Need enough horsepower to run OpenVPN and some other things well. 

Like an Orange Pi Plus2?

Or what have you found you are really impressed with?
