Xen Server boot dependancies

From: Stephen Kraus
Hey all,

So I'm the System Admin for a small garment company, and they've got a
couple of Citrix XenServer VM hosts that I'm about to upgrade from 5.6 to
6.2, and I'm adding another host to the pool and expand the VMs on it.

The weird question I have is: The previous company that was handling their
IT says there is a machine that the Pool Master needs to see in order to
boot, its a Red Hat system but I cannot find any dependencies refereed to
both in Xen's manual or on the Linux machine they say it needs.

=============================================================== From: Jason Brown ------------------------------------------------------ Could it be a bootp / pxe / tftp server?

=============================================================== From: Stephen Kraus ------------------------------------------------------ Could be, but as far as I can tell its running none of those services.

=============================================================== From: michael pearson ------------------------------------------------------ Licensing server maybe ? Haven't played with xen in over a year http://www.citrix.com/content/dam/citrix/en

=============================================================== From: Stephen Kraus ------------------------------------------------------ No, I know its not that, as I just renewed the license and its local....unless at one time they had a 'Enterprise' license they paid for that expired, because the free license is applied locally through the Administration program.

=============================================================== From: Stephen Kraus ------------------------------------------------------ Actually, correction, you may be right. I'll look into it tommorrow!
