Quick project

From: Aaron welch

I need a quick and dirty web widget that can take some player information,
store it in a DB, and make it visible online. This will then need be
embedded in our existing site within an iframe. Anyone got some time?
Should take 1-2hrs at most. This is also a paying gig.

=============================================================== From: Mike Harrison ------------------------------------------------------ iframes.. groan. but I understand. You might want to specify the development environment, languages/frameworks available and already in use, database servers currently available in a production state (mirrored, backed up.. etc.. ) and your expected level of interface attack and presentation. If you are doing a one-off like this, you should have it fix into existing things nicely. I don't have time, but to toss one out: Hand coded, in PHP into MySQL using MYSQLI in PHP, minimal HTML formatting and no real CSS, 1 hour to understand spec and your actual development/production environment, 2-3 hours to code, on production server using CLI/text editor = $750 That should make anyone else's quote that is hungry look really really good. If they do a good job, you should hire them :)

=============================================================== From: Aaron welch ------------------------------------------------------ Chuckle away, I just need that stuff visible on a site somewhere and I will do the rest. I just don't have the time to do it all myself. -AW

=============================================================== From: William Roush ------------------------------------------------------ Hmm I'd possibly be willing to poke at it, but like Mike, would like to know the environment and full requirements before I commit to the idea that it could be done so fast (do you need auth? integrated with your current site? .htpassword auth good enough [pfft it's a hack anyway, why not go all the way!]). I've done a lot of blind-box integrations (and

=============================================================== From: Aaron welch ------------------------------------------------------ No integrations at all, just display the information via an embeddable iframe. You pick the codebase. I personally do not care if this thing is hosted on Heroku, Amazon, Google Apps, etc. I want to enter the following information: Game: Game (Game Types) Halo 3 (2v2, FFA) Halo 4 (2v2, FFA) Call of Duty Black Ops 2 (2v2, FFA) Call of Duty Ghosts (2v2, FFA) Injustice (1v1) Mortal Kombat (1v1) League of Legends (1v1, 5v5) Smite (1v1, 5v5) Super Smash Brothers Brawl (1v1) Super Smash Brothers Melee (1v1) Gears of War 3 (2v2) Starcraft 2 (1v1, 2v2) Tournament Type: 1v1 FFA 2v2 5v5 If the Tournament Type is 2v2 or 5v5: Enter Team Name, then iterate for each player: Player Name First Player Name Last Gamertag DOB Phone Number Email Address If the Tournament Type is 1v1 or FFA: Player Name First Player Name Last Gamertag Age Phone Number Email Address I then need to have a tournament view to show each tournament as a tab with each participants information. This is for our admins to use, so I just need simple username and password for security. Regards, Aaron On Mon, Dec 2, 2013 at 3:11 PM, William Roush wrote:
