Anyone tried this yet? It's getting some press,

Looks like another Debian/Ubuntu 12.04 remix with a pretty desktop
and light basic requirements.

They seem to be stretching my concepts of some words in their marketing,
but seem to have an attractive window manager (Gala).

I was considering installing on a junk machine this weekend just to play.

=============================================================== From: Rod ------------------------------------------------------ it's not the only mac knockoff. I'm aware of it but haven't popped the disk into a machine yet. On Mon, 25 Nov 2013 19:08:37 -0500, Mike Harrison wrote:

=============================================================== From: Wil Wade ------------------------------------------------------ Tried it a bit ago. Wasn't light enough for the laptop I was trying it with (which currently uses XFCE). The laptop is mostly used for basic stuff and to write in Golang, so it didn't need much but it was not right for that use. I suggest making sure to give it a machine that has a fair bit of power to get a real feel for it. So > Atom 1.6Mhz with 2Gb Ram and an Intel Graphics with a slow HDD.

=============================================================== From: Mike Harrison ------------------------------------------------------ Fraid it was the other way around, I was reading Wired.. but like most web writing of such places, it just makes me ask more questions. That it hit Wired does mean it's hit some level of inertia.. I downloaded it and will be installing it soon on an old Toshiba laptop. If functional, it might be given to a poor college student that might show up this weekend.
