Over 6 million lines of code and multiple flavors of *nix.

A lot of of specialized military equipment runs linux of all flavors,
including my airframe (E-8C). Its interesting being on my airframe because
we have a little of every *nix and Windows.

=============================================================== From: Jonathan Calloway ------------------------------------------------------ My brother is a P3/P8 pilot. He talked at length once about the *nix based e= quipment on those things. I think he also said there's a lot of Java involve= d though....... Jonathan Calloway Sent from my iPad ship-is-powered-by-linux/ uding my airframe (E-8C). Its interesting being on my airframe because we ha= ve a little of every *nix and Windows.

=============================================================== From: Mike Harrison ------------------------------------------------------ It used to be Ada (I used to date a military Ada programmer..) Ada may be a bitch, but I liked what I saw more than Java. Launch Missile. An exception has occurred, XML file 392.121.commands has an extra carraige return. and an unterminated attribute.

=============================================================== From: Stephen Kraus ------------------------------------------------------ We had an issue where the Alpha system we had didn't recognize valid commands because the contractor put the commands in the wrong folder. And we have: Alpha Solaris Linux Vmware Windows OpenVMS Red Hat All on the same airframe. And OpenVMS handles the frontend.
