virtual swapmeet

I've come to the realization that there is no way in hell I'm gonna be ready for 
a physical swap meet tomorrow.   Its hard to plow thru a several hundred 
computers collected over the last 10 years in just a few days.  The truth is, I 
was doing pretty good about gathering up stuff to recycle/trade until I stopped 
to play with my big Wang (I'm definitely keeping that computer, just so I can 
say I have a big Wang).

So I'm going to focus on gathering up stuff for Monday's free recycle day at 
OGRC.  


I mentioned having some stuff that might be too cool/vintage/useful to send to 
the boneyard.  Here's a partial list...

several sparcstations (1/2/5/10/20) and an ultra 1 and ultra 2
(I plan to pick one or two to keep and let the rest go)
sun enterprise 250
mac IIsi
mac lc575

pre-g3 powermac or two or three or twelve
alphaserver 400 4/233

old game consoles (I think I have nes, snes, sega genesis), controllers, games
panasonic w1505a word processor (the missing link between typewriters and 
computers!).   I have tried to trash that damn thing 20 times but it keeps 
coming back.

Does any of the stuff above still work after sitting in my den for 10 years?  
hellifino.  I will have to plug 'em up and see, and that takes time.   If anyone 
sees something on the list that they lust after, let me know and I'll arrange my 
testing sequence accordingly.  Oh, and let me know what you have for trade :)   
I'm always looking for apple IIs, compact macs, mac parts (eg: mac plus 
keyboard), parts for pc-jr (eg: a keyboard would be nice to have), commodore 
stuff, coleco adam, stuff like that from early 80's (or older).  What I do NOT 
want is intel/amd junk, 386 or higher.

I'm glad I joined the list a few days ago!  I'd be interested in many of
the items on your list.  Unfortunately, my trade stock is fairly limited
(most of my machines I just can't let go of, had 'em for years).  About the
only machines I have multiple units of are the more common Commodore
machines (C64, VIC20, Plus4, maybe an extra C16).  I do still have a few
extra Laser128 Apple 2 clones left, plus a few Mac parts (6100? pizza box
looking models).

I too like vintage terminals, but don't really have any good ones to trade
(doubt anyone would want any of the Wyse's).
Know anyone with a desktop microvax?

How about a Colecovision game console so that I finally have something to
connect up to my Adam expansion pack?

Hey Ed,

I'd be interested in your NES and Sega Gen. Also, (and I'm not a mac person
so I don't know the proper name here...) I'm looking for a power cable for
an older mac book. Best way I can explain it is that the port on the laptop
looks like a RCA plug...

I'm too young to have amassed anything of interest so trading may not
work... But I could see about Twinkies if that would interest you ;)
provided they haven't sold out completely....

I have that power adapter you're describing. I got one for an old macbook
that didn't work. It still doesn't work. so technically, it's brand new and
never used. Yours for shipping for Oregon.

it's not a OEM apple part, it's a generic repro with no manufacturer marked
on the case. there is a model number: SA-65-A2.

Ok, may take you up on that unless someone has one here in Chatt... Kinda
have the same deal here, grabbed the mac at work to play with, providing it
works, but it didn't have the power cable so I have no clue if it even
works. Otherwise if someone has one that I could borrow for a day just to
test this laptop and see if it even works...

True... but my plan is to use it to try learning a little bit about the
file system. I know it is similar to Linux which I can navigate well enough
for my purposes, but the last time I poked around in a mac FS I got lost
pretty quick. That, and while I had always been a PC person (and now prefer
linux), I've always wanted to get my hands on a mac that didn't belong to
someone else so that if I were to mess it up, no one could get mad at me. ;)

you (worm/Jeff), me, Stephen, and the person who was interested in the nes/sega 
consoles will have to get together soon...   my first priority this weekend was 
to gather up stuff for Orange Grove,  so I had to let the virtual swapmeet 
"slide" while I focused on the O.G. stuff.    I'm not ignoring anyone, just 
needed to focus on the O.G. stuff first because I don't know how often they have 
"free crt" recycle day and I sure did not want to miss out on that!!! lol
