OT: Bitcoin: Butterfly Labs increases their hasrate on their ASIC mining hardware

So,
It looks like BFL is trying to take out the other ASIC's that are coming in
the marketplace. They have announced better performance specs for all
their ASIC's:

BitForce Jalapeno - 4.5gh/s @ 4.5w
BitForce Single SC - 60 GH/s @ 60w
BitForce MiniRig SC - 1,500 GH/s @ 1,500w

Thats some great looking numbers, and everyone who pre-ordered will be
getting this new performance. I can't wait to get my Single!

=============================================================== From: Matt Keys ------------------------------------------------------ +1 I'm pretty stoked about it too. *raises coffee mug* Here's to hoping our investments will be worth a damn in 6 months. :) From: chugalug-bounces@chugalug.org [mailto:chugalug-bounces@chugalug.org] On Behalf Of Lynn Dixon Sent: Sunday, September 30, 2012 1:02 AM To: CHUGALUG Subject: [Chugalug] OT: Bitcoin: Butterfly Labs increases their hasrate on their ASIC mining hardware So, It looks like BFL is trying to take out the other ASIC's that are coming in the marketplace. =============================================================== From: William Wade ------------------------------------------------------ I wonder what else you could do with these rigs besides mining? Perhaps if the BTC market crashes, science will be advanced instead?

=============================================================== From: Matt Keys ------------------------------------------------------ Seems like that question was in their FAQ somewhere previously. Yep, http://www.butterflylabs.com/bitforce-sc-faq/ . They're specifically designed for bitcoin mining... not much use for them otherwise. -----Original Message----- From: chugalug-bounces@chugalug.org [mailto:chugalug-bounces@chugalug.org] On Behalf Of William Wade Sent: Sunday, September 30, 2012 9:45 AM To: Chattanooga Unix Gnu Android Linux Users Group Subject: Re: [Chugalug] OT: Bitcoin: Butterfly Labs increases their hasrate on their ASIC mining hardware I wonder what else you could do with these rigs besides mining? =============================================================== From: Lynn Dixon ------------------------------------------------------ The probability of the Bitcoin market collapsing is pretty slim at this point. I have been watching www.bitcoinwatch.com and the number of transactions per day has always been increasing. It has seen constant and steady growth for almost 2 years now, and the prices per difficulty are beginning to stabilize.
