From: Phil Sieg ------------------------------------------------------ I have 2 test machines that I have installed various recent Ubuntu = builds. Here are the results: 1) 11.10 is pure shit and breaks either the video driver or the window = manager or who knows what??? 2) 11.04 is useable and ok once Unity is trashed, however Evolution will = not play back the .WAV files even though it gives me a play button. 3) 10.10 is essentially the same result as 11.04 without the need to = remove Unity. Evolution .wav playback is still broken. 4) 10.04 works perfectly AND .wav file play back perfectly inside of = Evolution. HOWEVER if I allow update manager to download and install all = recommended updates Video gets a dorked up same as in 11.10. So I can have what I want if I run 10.10 and never update, OR somebody = more linuxy than me can help me figure out what is breaking the = video/window manager. So it seems the BOUNTY is no longer necessary. A big thank you to Jonathan Calloway for bringing my attention back to = Evolution and testing various solutions until I got it to work. =============================================================== From: Lynn Dixon ------------------------------------------------------ I think the later versions were actually based on Debian more than Ubuntu. I recall a move away from Ubuntu repos and upstreams a while ago for Mint. On Feb 28, 2012 10:52 PM, "Stephen Haywood" wrote:
