If OSX is on topic so is this:Debian Hurd on its way

From: Rod-Lists

"Debian now has concrete plans to bring GNU Hurd to the larger community. GNU Hurd is expected to be released with the release of Debian 7.0 Wheezy towards the end of 2012 or beginning of 2013. Debian maintainer Samuel Thibault has already produced a Debian GNU/Hurd CD Set with a graphic installer which is available to download."

=============================================================== From: William Wade ------------------------------------------------------ I think Hurd is on topic. I also like the idea of having a (hopefully) quality GNU kernel of a different style than Linux. As much as Linux (and particularly BSD) has been put on everything from supercomputers to toasters, Linux does not really fit well on everything. However can the OSS community support building something like this from scratch and actually be successful?
