<div>I enjoy my own iPad, but I think these would be a distraction for school kids.  I've been tutoring my 4th grade niece in math and her biggest problem is being distracted during school.</div>
<div>And Stephen's right, the security would be unwieldy to manage for organizations without the funding or personnel to secure and maintain them.  Sounds weird from me though, thinking schools  could use less technology.</div>
<div>How about a VDI farm for schools so they could change out their lab environments easily (like we see at Global Knowledge and other IT training companies)?  I think that could cost less and perhaps provide more value.</div>

The new Saddle Ridge Elem down the road in Rock Spring did that. I heard <br>
they were giving 4th graders and above iPads to take home/school with <br>
them, the 3rd grade and below also have them but they turn them back in <br>
after class. : <br>
