I always like to read about how Mike creatively solves his 3rd world tech challenges.    He's kinda like a digital macgyver (I was hesitant to say hacker, oh no, I said it).  Mike, stay where you are, don't run, it only makes it worse.

We live in a world where bandwidth and services like that work. I'l looking at needed to do vending via USSD or SMS, and printing without a net connection beyond something local. 
Whats weird is we may have found dedicated devices that do this, based on older "Nokia" cell phone's. http://www.thebposonline.com/product.php is one of them.
