Was there any troubleshooting involved in the process that led you to
believe the Engenius bridge is faulty?  All of the Engenius bridges I
have worked with (I do keep the firmware up to date) have utilities to
show the bridge connection strength, other wireless devices (ie.
possible sources of interference), etc.

There's a cheap RALINK chip that appears to be working in the wild.
It's dual-band N, so it will connect to A/B/G on 2.4 or 5Ghz.  Also
includes an extension cable so you can put on your desk if your box is
in the floor.
