[Chugalug] How does fair as a linux box?

HD-PVR (USB Component Capture) + HDFury4 will work.  Won't be particularly
cheap, but it will work.

I use an HD-PVR with my Comcast box and it is pretty good.  But I don't
believe EPB has component outputs.
