I'm no expert, but a better response would have been:

"Oh, I'm so sorry Aaron. I didn't know it wasn't public knowledge. I didn't mean to put words in your mouth." (And then hit send)

Rather than:

Oops. My bad. I don't blame you anyways. So... Can I have some ram now?

I'm not sure if you had ulterior motives, or if you just don't understand the social  nuances of interaction.
