I was just clarifying that impression you were under.  SMB is quite
routable if is run across TCP/IP or IPX.  IPX obviously won't get you
across the Internet.  NetBeui isn't routable (and what Windows
networks connected by default for far too long), that's probably where
you are getting that impression.
