You should probably first decide if you want to learn C, or C++. They
are two very different animals. K&R C Programming Language would be my
recommended starting point for C. If you have previous code
experience and already know what a variable, constant and pointer are,
it will be a quick read. I have nothing on the C++ side. Every time
I have had a drunk enough hair up my arse to even venture to look at
C++ source, I start going down a vendor specific template road or some
such, and I burn out pretty quickly. Then again, I am not part of the
"everything's gotta be OOP, procedural programming is dead!" crowd
either, so take your own pinch of salt with the above.
