Short answer: it depends.

My short recommendation:
1) Never use Joomla
2) Use Wordpress if you don't need a lot of customizations and aren't
techsvvy. Its great for starter sites, blogs, etc...
3) Use Drupal for larger, more complicated websites. It requires a higher
learning curve but you can do more with it at the end of the day.

Perhaps more to come when I'm not on my phone...
