Are you sure run_bash_script.sh has finished?

Because this makes no sense to me. I know the guy who wrote "tee" (the
first time), but if I ask him without a test case he'll just laugh.

(He's not arrogant, but he is really really smart, and it took me a
while to figure out the difference...)
